Thank you for your interest in learning a bit more about Teri and the Dream Fund. This fund, an annual grant established in 2023 by the family of Teri Joaquin, is given to two recipients who meet the following criteria:
DANCE LEADER / CHOREOGRAPHER
– BIPOC and / or
– LGBTQ+
– dancer in San Diego County
– 18 years old or older
DANCE STUDENT
– BIPOC and / or
– LGBTQ+
– dancer in San Diego County
– 17 years old or younger
Applications will be reviewed by the family of Teri Joaquin, and two separate individuals will be chosen to receive the grant.
– One dance leader / choreographer will receive a $1,500 grant.
– One dance student will receive a $500 grant.
We know that artists often make sacrifices in pursuit of their dreams. Many artists struggle for opportunities and funding. This money is a small gift in Teri’s name to help ease some of those struggles, whether it be to fund a new show, pay other artist fees, venue rentals, or even dance classes. We hope this will help recipients continue their work in dance. It is something we believe Teri would have wanted for the dance community.
APPLICATION RULES & PROCESS
– The deadline to complete the application is midnight May 31, 2024.
– Application must be completed in full. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
– All applicants will be notified in July 2024 via email.
– Prize money will be award via check.
– Chosen recipients must be able to meet in July 2024 in San Diego to receive grant.
