The Foundling Experiment started out as a passing conversation between Toni Rose and Andy Justus on a random day in Seattle, Washington in 2005. After several years of being active members of the Seattle theater community, they did what many theater artists do: they thought about the possibility of starting their own theater company.

The terrifying, exciting “What if…”

Then they darted off to another rehearsal. Then their day jobs. Then laundry. Fast forward past marriage, travel, career changes, schooling… general life stuff.

In 2019, they finally remembered their decade old self-imposed question: What if? Now older and more worldly, they still found themselves interested in art and people, and with a renewed desire to effect change in their community through positive social interaction and artistic creation. Surrounded by individuals with unique stories to tell, but without a framework to express them, Andy and Toni made this leap to collaborate and give support to other individuals who share their same aspirations.

2020 has been full of chaos and frustration for everyone, but TFE hopes to champion collaboration, brave intentions, and all the outcomes possible if you just try!
